The Gear S2 is the main model, has a modern and minimalist look, and will be sold for $300. It will be available on Samsung.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy and select Macy's stores. It can be tested on Friday, Oct. 2 at Best Buy and Macy's Herald. Thus, consumers can also avail of the said model at an additional 50 Macy's stores nationwide, starting Oct. 16.

The Gear S2 Classic, being sold at $350, is more traditional with its black body and leather band. What makes it different from the other is that it has a classier look, comes in a smaller size, and has a bit more detail around that rotating bezel.

Its third option is a 3G cellular connection that allows people to make calls directly on the watch. It will be available later this fall at AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile. The Bluetooth-only version is also set to land at U.S. cellular; however, its pricing and availability will soon be announced.

Revealed at the IFA tech trade show in Berlin earlier in September, this Gear S2 is the seventh smartwatch of Samsung and the first to feature a circular screen. Other round-faced smartwatches are among its competitor's flagships such as Motorola's Moto 360 and LG Watch Urbane.

Samsung admitted that Gear S2 is its hope to tempt customers away from the Apple Watch which has peaked in becoming the leading player in the smartwatch world ever since its release in April.

Many analysts and reviewers have deemed on this wearable Gear S2 from the company's earlier attempts. Apple has produced 76 percent of smartwatches whereas only 7.5 percent on Samsung in the second quarter of this year.  Cnet reports that this would be the first time that Samsung's new smartwatch will work with non-Samsung phones and it is on Tizen, the company's homemade operating system.
