Audience Joins Broadway’s ‘Aladdin’ Cast on Singalong Salute to Robin Williams [Video]

Tuesday night's performance of "Aladdin" on Broadway ended on a slightly different tone as the cast paid tribute to the late Robin Williams.

After their performance, the cast led the audience in a singalong rendition of 'Friend Like Me," which the late comedic icon sang when he played the Genie in the 1992 Disney animated movie.

Theater actor James Inglehart, who play the Genie on the Broadway version of "Aladdin," had everyone in present inside the theater to participate in a rousing rendition of the iconic song. Even the playbill's for Tuesday night's performance were stuffed with the lyrics to the song just so everyone could participate.

Inglehart also spoke about the influence Williams had on many people. The Tony Award winner called the late actor "one of the greatest - not comedians - but one of the greatest entertainers of all time."

Williams was found lifeless in his home in Tiburon, Calif., on Monday. Authorities said the 63-year-old comedic genius hanged himself with a belt that was wedged between a closet door and the door frame, and his death was declared as a result of "death by asphyxia."

The actor, who won an Oscar Award for his role in "Good Will Hunting," was not only known for his works in movies and television. Williams also made his mark on the Broadway stage, first by appearing on the Great White Way for his "Robin Williams: Live on Broadway" show in 2002, and then playing a restless tiger ghost in the play "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo" in 2011.

The rest of the Broadway community is also paying tribute to the late actor by dimming marquee lights for one minute on Wednesday night.
