(Photo : Goole Maps) A 7.0 Earthquake has struck Japan's southwestern coast.

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Japan's southwestern coast on Friday, triggering a small tsunami, according to the BBC.

A report by National Post reveals that Japan Meteorological Agency said that the earthquake struck at 5:51 a.m. (20:51 GMT). Its epicenter has a depth of 10 kilometers, about 190 kilometers southwest of Kagoshima city in Kyushu. A 1 foot tsunami at the south of Kyushu Island was recorded after the earthquake.

No major damages in infrastructures and loss of lives has been reported.

Also, as stated by CNN News, the National Tsunami Warning Center said that the earthquake will not trigger any tsunamis in the U.S. West Coast, British Columbia and Alaska.
