Several bands scheduled to perform in Paris have called off their concerts following terrorist attacks on Friday night.

"We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight," U2 announced late on Friday. They said that they were "fully resolved to go ahead with this show at an appropriate time."

HBO has been promoting the concert and even posted promotional posters around New York City, according to The Expatica. They planned to air the U2's iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE World Tour.

"It was canceled, honest, and I understand perfectly why... It's up to the French authorities and the city to decide when we can go back," frontman Bono said. "We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe."

France has declared a state of emergency after the terrorist attacked several locations across the city, including an auditorium where US band Eagles of Death Metal was performing. Scores of people were left dead at the Bataclan concert hall and officials have hinted that the popular venue may have been the target of the attacks.

Dave Grohl, in cooperation with the Eagles of Death Metal, announced separately that they were cutting short their tour. On social media, the band announced, "In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks."

Both U2 and Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform in the AccorHotels Arena.
