The Warhammer 40K: Fireblade has been released for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Players can take command of an Imperial Knight using Apple's 3D Touch technology.

Euro Gamer reported that Fireblade was the demo game used by Apple in September to showcase the iPhone 6S and A9 chip's graphic and memory capability.

The 3D Touch technology enables Fireblade players to change weapons by simply changing the amount of pressure they exert on the screen of the iPhone, according to the Verge.

In the Warhammer 40K story, the Imperial Knight is a giant mechanical biped standing more than 15 meters tall and armed with the most deadly weapons that human space marines could think of. It is said that the pilots of this fearsome metal beasts are so devoted to their "God Emperor" that they have been permanently implanted inside the giant war machines.

The Knight in the game navigates through the devasted landscape on its own. Players simply need to control the weapons. A short light tap on the screen will activate the Knight's main weapon which is a machine gun. This is also the default weapon which players can change later in the game. A hard press will activate a bigger secondary gun.

Players can also use shields to protect their Knights or fire a salvo of missiles as well as engage in arm to arm combat with giant sized enemies using context based taps and press.

The game, however, will only provide a small and finite amount of ammunition during the missions. Weapons also tend to overheat. Players will have to think hard on when and where to use their weapons in to order to obtain the highest score in kills and points.

Combat in Fireblade tends to be short but graphically pleasing. Game critics pointed out that the graphic intensive game did not falter in its performance.

Fireblade is free to download on Apple store and for now is an exclusive for the iOS. The game developers have provided players a means to have weapon upgrades and options either by finding crates in the game or by using elements to make their own weapon.

Fireblade offers players the option to upgrade or buy weapons and other items through the in-game currency or real cash.
