In a bid to attract buyers, China has exhibited its most powerful combat and reconnaissance drone at an industry expo in Shenzhen, Guangzhou province. The CH-5 combat drone, which was created by the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp, made its maiden flight in August and is dubbed as the People's Republic's strongest and biggest military drone.

Chin'a latest unmanned aerial craft can reportedly carry more than the 1500kg weight that other military drones could accommodate. The CH-5 makers boasted that the drone could carry as much as 3000 kg weight and 900 kg of equipment and weapons.

"The larger carrying capacity enables the CH-5 to have more reconnaissance equipment so it can detect any given target within a radius of 80 km," said aircraft's chief engineer Lan Wenbo. "We have sold the CH-3 to several foreign nations and now we plan to launch the export version of the CH-5 to the international market. It can perform air-to-ground strike, reconnaissance and transport operations," added CH series' chief designer Shi Wen.

The public display of the new equipment clearly shows the country's eagerness to sell it - especially considering China's discreet rule on its  defense sector. The countries that China has introduced the new weapon has not been disclosed. But previous reports cited that Moscow-based Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies' senior analyst Vasily Kashin saying that drones from the CH series have been deployed in countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Unmanned aircraft project head Ou Zhongming revealed that the CH-5 is huge enough to accommodate exceptional radar which can penetrate walls and caves to track terrorists.
