The video has already garnered more than 4.6 million views and 300,000 likes.

The 34-year-old singer was reportedly out shopping with his friends at the Xinyi District in Taipei when he heard his song titled 'Jiang Nan' being sung by a street busker nearby.

'Jiang Nan' (which translates to 'River South' in English) is on Lin's second album Haven, which was released in 2004.

Lin walked to the busker and listened closely. The singer decided to join the street performer in an impromptu duet.

Initially, people passing didn't recognize the singer. However, when Lin started singing the first lines of the song, the public immediately took out their phones to take photos and videos, according to Asian Pop News.

After the song finished, Lin applauded the busker and showed his sincere appreciation for his efforts.

The singer's gratuitous gesture gave the busker inspiration. The busker revealed that it had been a while since he performed in Xinyi district prior to his unexpected duet with Lin.

The busker also left a comment on Lin's Facebook page saying that he received a good fortune by having the opportunity to sing with Lin.

Lin's video has attracted more than 10,000 comments and even caught the attention of Hayley Woo, a Singapore actress.

However, a netizen expressed concern that Lin's spontaneous performance may be illegal by Taiwan law because he didn't apply for a permit.

Taipei authorities reacted that the 34-year-old singer did not violate the law since the performance was brief and unplanned. Unfortunately, the busker did not posses any permit to legally perform in public.

"We will take note in the future," said a representative of Warner Music, Lin's recording label.
