Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg is planning to take a two-month paternity leave to spend time with his daughter once she is born.

Zuckerberg has recently opened up about his first-time experience at parenthood, narrating the heartaches that he and his wife had gone through trying to conceive, losing an unborn child, and then trying again. With Priscilla's succesful pregnancy this time, he now talks about preparing for the baby's arrival, and inevitably juggling fatherhood duties with the demands of work.

Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook account on Friday that he will take half of the four-month paternity leave that the company grants to new parents.

Facebook has been granting its U.S. employees up to four months of paid paternity or maternity leave, which they can avail of all at once or spread through the first year of their newborn's life, wh

Facebook's leave policy is considered up to par with U.S. labor standards. Netflix, on the other hand, allows up to a year, Google permits up to 18 weeks, and Microsoft 12 weeks.

Zuckerberg noted in his post the many studies that showed good results for children and families if working parents took time off from work to be with their newborns. His post gathered nearly 70,000 likes within an hour of posting.

Zuckerberg used to be guarded about his private life albeit being a very public personality - and one of the richest ones at that.  He would normally just talk about  his work, his philanthropy, and his dog Beast.

This changed, however, when Priscilla was out of the delicate first timester and her pregnancy was somewhat deemed stable.

Zuckerberg then announced, in July, that he and Priscilla were expecting their first child, a girl. In that deeply up-close-and-personal kind of post, he let out their past agony over three miscarriages, described the pain as something that is hard for couples to talk about, and the insecurity and self-blame that tend to set in.

Zuckerberg did not mention when his daughter is due. Neither did he mention who would be running the social network while he is out.
