Kanye West Plans to Build an Outrageously Lavish Kardashian Cathedral

West plans on building a church similar to Barcelona's La Sagrada Familia.

With the world keeping up with the Kardashians, it has come to realize that Kanye West sure loves overgenerous gestures.

First, there was the proposal to Kim Kardashian at a baseball stadium with a 50-piece orchestra. Second, their wedding vows had been exchanged in front of a grand floral wall in Florence, Italy.

Now, West has taken a step further and is reportedly planning to build a cathedral for Kardashian as huge and spectacular as the La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain.

"They want somewhere that weddings, baptisms and family funerals can take place for years to come," a source told The National Enquirer. "But Kanye being Kanye, it's going to be ludicrously over the top!"

As a Roman Catholic church, the La Sagrada Familia was designed by architect Anton Gaudi and was constructed in 1882, although it remains unfinished.

Based on the insider's reports, the rapper has gone to the church a couple of times, which "takes his breath away every time." As such, West is planning on creating something similar for his family.

West, whose last album was entitled "Yeezus", has been reportedly going around and searching for the perfect place to have his own place of worship built.

There have been even rumors that the building will be decorated with lavish stained glass windows that will feature the 37-year-old rapper himself, wife Kardashian, and their daughter North. .

"Kanye sees it as a monument to him and Kim that will become a major landmark," the source claimed, while adding, "He says everyone will want to see it, like the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building."

Apparently, West has already allocated a whopping $5 million for such pious projects with plans of launching an online appeal for fans to make a contribution to the fund.

A tribute to the rapper's late mother Donda, who was described as "deeply religious", will also be included in the plans for the church

West has previously compared himself to a divine being, having written and released a song called "I Am God".
