Eight years old Chrissy Turner is battling a rare case of breast cancer.

She is the youngest ever to receive a breast cancer diagnosis, according to The Guardian.

"I was scared to figure out what it was. But I knew I could fight it off and I hope that I can fight it off," Chrissy said.

A lump in her breast was discovered when she asked her mother a month ago about the swollen part in her breast.

Her mother, Annette, was worried and they opted to seek medical attention about it.

It was discovered that Chrissy has a form of cancer called secretory breast carcinoma.

"It was such a shock. No child should have to go through cancer," Annette expressed her shock following the diagnosis. "Only one in one million are diagnosed and she is the youngest that they've run across having this particular type of breast cancer."

The family is from Centerville, Utah.

Chrissy is set to undergo a series of surgeries, according to the CNN.

As a treatment of choice, mastectomy is required. After which, Chrissy will undergo multiple PET scans for five years.

Chrissy, who loves to play Legos, recently had her lump removed at the Primary Children's Hospital in Riverton, Utah. She will have another surgery in December.

Friends and family are trying to help Chrissy by setting up the GoFundMe Account. This is to help her family pay for her medical treatment.

According to the Pediatric Surgery International, secretory breast carcinoma is a type of cancer that hits "fewer than one percent of all breast cancers and fewer than 0.1% of all tumors in children."

Meanwhile, Chrissy's father is also battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, while her mother Annette had a cervical cancer.

"It's a struggle every day worrying about my family, about my husband and now my baby girl," Annette stated.
