Former National Basketball Association power forward Jeremy Tyler is reportedly returning to the Chinese Basketball Association to join the Fujian SBS Xunxing Sturgeons this season.

Xinhuanet reported the development saying that Tyler becomes the third foreign player acquired by the squad after the team had signed ex-Laker Dwight Buycks and Lebanese forward Fadi Khatib.

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound center-forward was a second round selection, 39th overall, of the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2011 NBA Draft. He had played for the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, and New York Knicks in his three full seasons of NBA experience.

His last official NBA regular season stint was in 2013-2014 in New York as he averaged 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in only 10 minutes per night in 17 games for the Big Apple franchise before he was signed by the Shanxi Fenjiu Brave Dragons in October 2014.

The former San Diego high school standout played 41 games for Shanxi during the 2014-2015 season, averaging 22.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

After finishing his contract with the Brave Dragons, he suited up with the Dallas Mavericks in this year's NBA Summer League, where he averaged 11.3 points and 8.3 boards in six appearances.

Tyler was then signed by the Houston Rockets in late September, but he was eventually waived almost a month later after only two preseason games with the franchise, from which he decided to go back to the CBA this time with the Sturgeons, according to the Japan Times.

The 24-year-old began his professional playing for Israeli Super League team Maccabi Haifa in August 2009 after he decided to pass over his senior year in high school. He parted ways with the club in March 2010 for personal reasons, appearing in only 10 games and producing measly averages of 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in almost eight minutes of play per game.

He then moved to Japan to play for the now disbanded Tokyo Apache from 2010 to 2011, where he averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in a little over 15 minutes of playing time a night in 33 games, before embarking on a brief NBA career.
