After ten years since the first "Family Guy" movie premiered, it seems like a sequel is finally in the works. Series creator Seth MacFarlane hinted that they will be releasing a new movie soon.

Speaking to Gamespot, when asked about the possibility of doing another "Family Guy" film, MacFarlane promised that they will be working on it soon. Back in 2014, director and producer Peter Shin also confirmed that they are thinking of doing another movie. The project, however, had to take a back seat when MacFarlane directed the "Ted 2" movie.

"Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" had a straight-to-DVD release in 2005. The movie was then split into three parts and aired on TV the following year. It has yet to be confirmed if the sequel will focus on Stewie once again or if it would be released in theaters.

In other news, it has long been rumored that the animated series will be cancelled after season 14. In November, Cinema Blend reported that "Family Guy" has been struggling in the ratings game. Given that it is already positioned in tough timeslot, the outlet speculated that it was only a matter of time before the network pulls the plug.

Season 14, episode 5 titled "Peter, Christian & Brian" reportedly raked in 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.58 million viewers. The season premiere also just had 2.87 million viewers to the surprise of the producers.

The outlet further pointed out that "Family Guy" is the only animated series that has yet to receive a renewal from Fox.

"There's nothing in the cards for either Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Last Man, either, but animated series usually have a lengthy pre-production time that makes early renewals more helpful to the creative teams. The countdown clock is ticking pretty loud. "
