The Chicago Bulls-Derrick Rose "breakup" saga had only just begun and one of the most interesting rumors that recently emerged was a proposed deal with the New Orleans Pelicans involving Tony Snell, Jrue Holiday, and Eric Gordon.

Much has been speculated about Rose's future ever since news of his potential breakup with the Bulls was revealed by ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

There were rumors that the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in dealing for the 27-year-old All-Star, but it remained only rumors as the Hollywood team is reportedly eyeing Kevin Durant next summer and would like to allot enough cap space to sign the Oklahoma City superstar.

Sir Charles in Charge's Michael Saenz proposed a "bold change" that he said "probably won't happen" with regards to Chicago trading Rose and Joakim Noah at the same time this season.

With the emergence of Jimmy Butler and the high-level play of Spanish starters Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic, Rose and Noah were said to be steadily becoming indispensable within Fred Hoiberg's system while the fans are allegedly also slowly accepting the inevitable divorce with their prized point guard.

Saenz clarified that he doubts any team would be interested in the ultra-expensive and injury-prone Rose, but if there will be one, "the Bulls should - and probably would - jump all over that opportunity".

One RealGM forum even dedicated a topic "Trade Ideas for Derrick Rose" and user Austincys21 suggested a deal that will send Rose and small forward Tony Snell to the Pelicans in exchange for point guard Jrue Holiday and shooting guard Eric Gordon.

The proposal was approved by the ESPN Trade Checker, which means such transaction will have no complications when it comes to salaries and other league rules.

Pairing Rose with the up-and-coming Anthony Davis would be a huge boost for the struggling Pelicans and might even take them all the way to title contention if the 2011 league MVP could stay healthy and get back to his top form.

Meanwhile, Holiday and Gordon will give the Bulls more youth in their ageing backcourt and could provide competent support to their blossoming team leader Butler as well.
