Luckey mentioned that Rock Band VR is a new virtual reality game that was created in collaboration with Harmonix and will likely debut in March 2016. He did not mention anything about when the headset will be available or exactly how much it will cost, making VR fans wait for the company's flagship on Oculus Rift headset.

Tens of millions of the virtual reality device may be sold in the next few years, according to analysts. These will help attract enthusiastic investments from venture capitalists. Luckey has teased on Twitter earlier this week that he will make a big announcement. This sparked a guessing game among tech publications about the launch of the Rift headset which is the high-end product of Oculus.

Rock Band VR is coming next year with a version of Rock Band in virtual reality. Dragon Force's epic speedmetal track 'Through the Fire and Flames' will also be featured.

Fans can expect sticker shock of roughly $1,500 that includes the computer's price which is necessary to run the VR experience.

Harmonix, on the other hand, joins companies such as Netflix and Hulu as well as game makers Sega and Ubisoft that makes content for virtual reality.

Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg believes that virtual reality will change the way computers' are used and revolutionize how humans communicate with each other.

An entry-level version of its technology is the $99 Gear VR that has been already released and works with Samsung smartphones.
