A less-than-a-minute trailer for Beyonce and Jay Z's HBO special has been released, featuring the singer serenading her rapper husband with the song, "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)".

"Bang Bang" was written by the late Sonny Bono in the early 1960s and, became one of Bono's former wife, Cher's biggest solo hits. Many renditions of the song followed after, including Nancy Sinatra's version which was released in 1966.

With lyrics such as "Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground," the said song is about an abusive and violent relationship and its eventual murderous end.

The black-and-white teaser, which almost depicts a film noir atmosphere, shows Beyonce taking the role of a glittery lounge singer taking the stage, while Jay Z sits and watches her, donning a gangster-type outfit and smoking a cigar.

With her face under a lacy veil, the 33-year old pop diva sings to her husband.

After the sensual serenade, snippets of the iconic couple's previous concerts and performances follow.

The trailer is for an HBO special documenting Beyonce and Jay Z's two last performances from the couple's "On The Run" tour. The said special will air on September 20.

Despite allegations of cheating, divorce rumors and now even a surrogacy dispute regarding their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, the duo continues to insist that they are stronger than ever.

However, an insider shared that the tumultuous relationship between the husband and wife has brought about a lot of tension in their performances, with some of the producers worrying that the duo might not be able to fight through to finish the tour.

An insider stated that the two are planning to divorce in a few months time and have been spending most of their time offstage apart.

Beyonce and Jay Z are said to even be staying in separate hotels during their tour, despite their attempts to quash rumors with onstage PDA and happy Instagram photos.

"I'm definitely not sure that they'll make it to Paris [the last stop of their tour]," the source shared.
