Another book, "The Biography of Deng Xiaoping (1904-1974)", features Deng's experiences life until 1974, when he served as vice premier after being purged for years during China's Cultural Revolution.

The collected works book was edited by the Party Literature Office of the CPC Central Committee and published by the People's Publishing House while the biography was written by the Party Literature Research Office and published by the Party literature publishing house.

Born on August 22, 1904 in southwest China's Sichuan Province, Deng became the "chief architect of China's reform and opening-up".

He was largely credited for what China is today due to his painstaking efforts in leading the country's transformation drive in the 1970s.

Aside from the publishing of the biography and collected works. China will also commemorate its late leader through a 48-episode TV series that tells the story of Deng Xiaoping.

The TV series, which will be broadcast from Friday on CCTV-1 at prime time, was made by China's national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) under the guidance of the Party literature research office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the Party committee of Sichuan Province, where Deng was born.

Last week, a symposium commemorating Deng Xiaoping was held in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

Deng's daugther Deng Nan joined Guandong's Party chief Hu Chunhua, senior officials, and more than 150 people in the symposium, Xinhua News reported.

Deng toured Guangdong Province three times in 1977, 1984 and 1992. The speeches and inscriptions he gave during these visits were inspiring to the locals as well as all the Chinese people.
