Recent NBA rumors suggest that Hornets backup point guard Jeremy Lin is unhappy in Charlotte as his growth and development as a player is being held back by teammate Kemba Walker. Moreover, the five-year pro is allegedly courted by defending champions Golden State Warriors and a trade could happen anytime in midseason.

Fansided's Michael Dunlap recently examined Walker's effect on Lin, saying that the former Harvard standout is "supposed to be experiencing a career renaissance of sorts" with the Hornets but instead "Walker and head coach Steve Clifford have made it hard on Lin to display his skills".

Dunlap further said that Lin is "right back in the spot he's been trying to avoid", which is "behind a ball-dominant player (and supporting coach) who has made it difficult for Lin to play to his strengths".

After his infamous "Linsanity" days in New York with the Knicks, Lin moved to the Houston Rockets in 2012-2013 then to the Los Angeles Lakers last season where he both played behind ball domineering alpha dogs James Harden and Kobe Bryant.

Those three seasons were clearly not the best days of his career and so a move to Charlotte this season brought in him renewed hope and enthusiasm.

However, 21 games into the season, things are starting not to look good again for the Asian-American.

Dunlap noted that "Lin has suffered greatly from playing next to Walker and unsurprisingly thrived with Kemba on the bench". The article proved the statement with concrete statistics, but it was just about the summary of Walker's effect on Lin.

What is certain, though, is Walker is not doing it on purpose. Still, such scenario cannot be ignored and so rumors of Lin being traded to the Warriors have emerged as the trade restriction for recently signed free agents expires on December 15.

Lin admitted that he got a call from the Warriors last summer and he "entertained it", as per the New York Post, but he ultimately declined the offer because he wanted to have a bigger role in a "successful team" and it is obvious he can never have it in Golden State.

So he chose the Hornets.

But as fate has a sense of humor, it seems like Lin could not really find a team where he can be a starter and main contributor as coaches seem to think of him as a bench player at the most. Only time will tell whether he will be moved or not before the February trade deadline.
