Anthony Wong triumphed in the Best Actor category in the TVB Anniversary Awards annual ceremony for his portrayal of Kiu Ngo Tin in the pre-modern period drama, "Lord of Shanghai." Among Anthony's competitors were Wayne Lai, Ruco Chan, Louis Cheung and Moses Chan.

The veteran actor with his genuine affability and unpretentious personality delivered his speech saying:

"There are rumours that I will throw out this trophy I won, but actually they are well stored in my house. I heard the trophy is made of real gold, I will preserve it in a locker."

According to Wong, trophies signify not merely one's efforts, but also represent the works of others and thus, trophies should be highly regarded.

The recognition for Best TV Drama of the Year went to "Lord of Shanghai".

Nancy Wu was named Best Actress at the TVB Awards. The 34-year old actress took home the award for her exceptional performance in the romantic-comedy TV series "Ghost of Relativity."

The actress, trying to hold back her tears, thanked her supporters as well as her mentors in her speech on stage:

"I want to thank all of my partners, who helped me make a lot of progress along the way. Thanks to my fans and friends and my sisters. I will work even harder in the future."

Nancy admitted that Kristal Tin was always her bet to win the title, so she was completely surprised and bewildered for a while when her name was called. It is the first TVB best actress award for Wu since becoming part of the TV station in 2001.
