A 15-year-old boy is facing beheading after joining a protest rally in Saudi Arabia. The arrested boy who is now 19 years old is Abdullah al-Zaher. He was allegedly detained and accused  of "harbouring" protesters and took part on the demonstration and slogan chant as well as setting cars ablaze and throwing Molotov cocktails.

Last month, al-Riyadh, a local Arabic-language news outlet, said there are around 52 prisoners on the death row including Abdullah and five other young men set to be executed in nine different cities in a day; however, the article was taken down without explanation. They were reportedly inclined with the al-Qaida who wants to overpower the kingdom.

The sentence was given October last year by Riyadh's specialized criminal court. The prosecuter purportedly also wants Zaher to be crucied following the beheading. And now, the family of the teenager, for the first time, sought help to the world. The father Hassan al-Zaher cried "Please help me save my son from the imminent threat of death. He doesn't deserve to die just because he participated in a protest rally."

The family including a campaign group named Reprieve claimed that the boy was tortured and forced a confession from him. "He was forced to sign a paper that the police fabricated and that he was not able to read under a threat of corporal punishment. He told me that he did not throw Molotov [cocktails] or anything similar." Further, he was prohibited to see his family or even his lawyer.

Based on the Amnesty International's report, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sentenced over 150 people this year. And many of these were penalized because of non-violent cases like blogger Raif Badawi, who is due for whip lashings, and Ahsraf Fayadh, who was beheaded for apostasy.
