South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of its latest mid-end smartphone, called the Samsung Galaxy A9, in China.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 smartphone has since been certified by the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) in China, and by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) agency in the United States.

As a new addition to Samsung's Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A9 sports a 6.0-inch AMOLED display screen with a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution (Full HD), and runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.

The phone comes with a 13 megapixel camera on the front, and an 8 megapixel camera on the back. The primary unit comes with a wide f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization feature.

Inside, the Galaxy A9 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM, up to 32GB of expandable internal memory storage, and a massive 4,000 mAh battery with support for the Quick Charge technology.

In addition, the Galaxy A9 has a fingerprint sensor that is built into the home button and supports Samsung Pay. Other specs include support for GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 version, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity as well.

There is still no word from Samsung on the phone's price and availability in China and the international market. Since the Galaxy A9 just made its way to both the FCC and TENAA, it is likely to be launched anytime soon.

Earlier this month, the South Korean company unveiled its Galaxy A7 handset after it passed through the FCC in the U.S. last month.
