Lenovo Adds OLED Displays and Folding Ability to X1 Laptop Line

(Photo : Reuters) Lenovo is working on an ambitious project known as Connect that will allow people connect to the internet even without SIM cards.

Chinese tech giant Lenovo is in the process of updating its X1 Carbon Ultra Book. The new models of the device will be shipped with the latest generation of the Sky Lake processors.

The device is also expected to sport a much thinner and slimmer exterior, measuring only 0.66 inches in thickness and weighing at only 2.6 pounds. The device is likely to also feature a finger print scanner. It will be running on the latest Windows 10 and will be available in February at the rate of $1,299.

However, the X1 Carbon Ultra Book will remain a traditional laptop as well. It is perfect for users who want a more tablet styled functionality in a laptop.

Lenovo is also releasing a new model which are influenced by another of Lenovo's product lines. The new model, called the X1 Yoga, will be almost identical to the X1 Carbon devices, but it will also include a touch screen, a stylus, and also a 360 degree hinge.

This means that just like the other Yoga products, users will be able to swing the keyboard around behind the display, doubling the laptop like a tablet.

Additionally, both the X1 Carbon and the X1 Yoga will be configured to include a processor up to the Core i7 processors, a RAM of 16 GB, an SSD storage space of 1 TB.

The devices will also include a 14 inch display screen along with a screen resolution of 1080p or 2560 x 1440 pixels. The X1 Yoga will include an option for a 2560x1440 OLED screen, which are still fairly rare in the market. The X1 Yoga will be released within this month priced at $1,449.
