Amidst reports that Cheick Tiote is the subject of interest of Chinese sides Beijing Guoan and Shanghai Shenhua, Newcastle United will hold a dialogue with the midfielder to discuss his future at the club.

Tiote has made 11 Premier League appearances this season and his contract will expire in 18 months. His current team is tagging him a value of around £8m (over 75 million yuan). Beijing Guoan is looking to pay less, but has offered the player a salary of around £3.5m (over 33 million yuan) a year after tax.

Beijing Guoan and Shanghai Senshua both compete in the Chinese Super League.

Beijing Guoan finished fourth in the league's last season and is aiming to do better. The team is based in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, while the Senshua is stationed in Kangqiao, Shanghai.

Chinese clubs are looking to invest heavily in English Premier League players with the potential for increased commercial revenues. The likes of John Terry and Wayne Rooney have been approached.

Chinese outfits have also been very active in enticing South American and African players to move and to continue their football career in China.

Brazilian midfielder Jadson joined second-tier club Tianjin Songjiang along with Luis Fabiano. Zimbabwean Nyasha Mushekwi is expected to play for Dalian Yifang.

The 2015 Brazilian Championship best player Renato Augusto recently confirmed his transfer to Beijing Guoan and midfielder Diego Terdelli has moved to the Shandong Lumeng.

Due to higher salaries and the improved standard of the Chinese Super League, China has become an increasingly alluring destination for Brazilian players and coaches.

There are six Brazilians in the Guangzhou Evergrande squad that won the past five league titles. Among them are former national team players Paulinho, Robinho and Ricardo Goulart. The club is under the watch of Luiz Felipe Scolari, Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning manager.
