NBA 2K15: Stephen Curry Loves Idea of ‘Challenge Flags’ in the NBA

During the NBA 2K15 "Uncensored" event hosted by 2K Sports in NYC on Tuesday, Stephen Curry brought up the idea of bringing more fairness to the sport of basketball by the NBA implementing "Challenge Flags" similar to how they're used in the NFL.

Challenge Flags in the NFL are used by coaches who don't agree with a certain call that a referee made on the field.  For example, say the wide receiver caught the football in the end zone for a touchdown but the ref ruled him out of bounds. The coach can throw the red flag to challenge and have the play reviewed via multiple camera angles. Curry wants the same concept in the NBA.

Curry goes into the subject mentioning how NBA refs are only human and make mistakes quite often with missed or bad calls. If NBA had Challenge Flags, they'd be able to return very questionable calls in key moments that could have an impact on the outcome of the game.

Current MVP Kevin Durant didn't like the proposal however, expressing his belief that the NBA shouldn't change any rules in which may take away from the purity of the game of basketball.

Rockets shooting guard James Harden didn't disagree with the idea though, saying maybe two to three challenges each game could work out well for the sport.

2K Sports also released information about NBA 2K15 introducing Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal into the game. This most likely means 2K Sports will be implementing the TNT scoreboard and halftime analysis into NBA 2K15 as well.

For unknown reasons, Charles Barkley (who's also apart of the TNT crew with Shaq and Ernie) reportedly has been snubbed from being apart of the game. Many "turrible" comments from "The Round Mound of Rebound" are going to be missed.

NBA 2K15 has been set to release on Oct. 7 just in time before the holidays.
