The latest Star Wars installment follows the story of the well loved characters, three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire as a new threat arises. The First Order then attempts to rule what is left of the galaxy and only a group of heroes and the Resistance can stop them.

During the first week of screening, Star Wars received 167,060 showings, but last weekend it only received 66,568 showings - a 72 percent decline from its first screening weekend.

Overall, Star Wars earned a gross of more than $125 million in China, which is a feat for a Hollywood movie since China is the second-largest theatrical market.

Boonie Bears 3, which is based on a popular CCTV animated series, was produced by Fantawild Holdings and LeVision Pictures. It earned an estimated $15.08 million this past weekend and has grossed a total of $20.07 million as of Monday morning. The animated film roughly received around 10 percent more screenings than the latest Star Wars franchise.
