Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin is the subject of recent trade rumors nowadays, especially after the recent "punching" scandal he was involved in with the teams' equipment manager. One of the most interesting Griffin trade scenarios emerging is that of a swap with the New York Knicks involving its main man Carmelo Anthony.

The 26-year-old Griffin is considered as one of the best power forwards in the NBA today. He is still entering his prime and is one of the most explosive and dynamic players right now that is truly fun to watch.

However, with his recent bouts with injuries and a fall out with one of the team's officials, LA may be pondering on letting go of their five-time All-Star.

ESPN's Zach Lowe noted that the Clippers are actually winning without Griffin and it could force the franchise to try and seek to upgrade its roster with him as the main trade piece.

Meanwhile, Anthony is five years Griffin's senior and is a highly experienced team leader and is currently respected as one of the best players in the NBA together with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry.

Any team would welcome the nine-time All-Star and former NBA scoring champion, especially the Clippers whose Chris Paul-DeAndre Jordan pick-and-roll connection would be much more lethal with Anthony's outside shooting range than that of Griffin's high-flying plays.

It is not yet confirmed that Doc Rivers and company are trying to deal Griffin out this trade season, but there are speculations that the team may just pull it off before the February 18 deadline.

SB Nation predicted that a Griffin-Anthony trade could happen considering that Griffin is a better complement to the Knicks' super-rookie Kristaps Porzingis as Anthony is also a better match for Paul and Jordan as just mentioned.

With New York, Griffin would no doubt become the main offensive option, something that the 2009 first overall pick would very much welcome and has already proven every time Paul is sidelined.

Porzingis' unique traits of good outside shooting and reliable rim protection is a much more suitable balance with that of Griffin's aerial and drive-to-the-basket plays and wing defensive presence than that of Anthony's jump shot heavy offensive arsenal.

Also, the combination of Griffin and Porzingis may attract a few valuable free agents this summer and if Phil Jackson could get one, the Knicks "could become a serious threat on a less top-heavy conference".
