"I gave my best to get this win and I did," the Chinese boxing champion said. "Now I want the black and gold belt."

In other fights on the night, WBA Oceania super featherweight champion Can Xu (8-0) won the vacant WBA International super featherweight title by a unanimous decision against the Isaias Santos Sampaio (26-12, 24 KOs), Brazil's super featherweight champion. Can Xu remains unbeaten in his eight professional boxing matches.

In another fight, Xong Ju Cai (7-1, 1 KO) scored a 98-92, 96-94 and 99-91 ten round unanimous decision against the Venezuelan Debora "La Pantera" Rengifo (6-2-1, 3 KOs) to claim the WBA International female minimum weight title.

"I'm pleased by what happened here today," said Gang Liu of the Zowi Boxing Promotion, who promoted the fights.

"Two hundred million people watched this great event. I hope Gilberto Jesus Mendoza is satisfied with what he saw, because we have many more fights planned for the future."
