The National Basketball Association State Farm All-Star Saturday night saw three different, thrilling and action-packed basketball events in Toronto, Canada.

The Verizon Slam Dunk Contest, the Taco Bell Skills Challenge and the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest were the highlights of the evening, which showcased the high level of skills and exceptional talents of the superstars in the NBA.

Minnesota Timberwolves' rookie Karl-Anthony Towns won the 2016 Taco Bell Skills Challenge. Towns, who emerged as the representative for the frontcourt bracket, edged out the quick Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, who represented the backcourt bracket, by dropping his third three-pointer attempt in what was a neck and neck final round

The much anticipated Foot Locker Three Point Contest followed after the Skills Challenge was over. It was a star-studded contest which included Golden States Warriors' Splash Brothers, reigning NBA's MVP Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Houston Rockets star player James Harden also participated in the shootout.

Curry was the defending champion, but he failed to keep the title as his teammate Thompson came out to be the sharpest shooter of the night to claim the crown.

"Just the fact I got to go up against Steph in the finals again. It was like déjà vu [from] last year.... Back-to-back years for Splash Brothers, it's pretty cool," Dubs star Thompson said when asked about the title's significance after the shootout.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Timberwolves sophomore player Zach LaVine successfully defended his Verizon Slam Dunk title against the league's most creative and artistic dunkers.

LaVine, who got the better of Orlando Magic's Aaron Gordon in their showdown, joins Michael Jordan, Jason Richardson and Nate Robinson as the only solo back-to-back victors of the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest.
