Sagiev was from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

The Russian's body was found at Cache Couloir in Glacier Church. Authorities were forced to airlift the remains as he was located in a steep area at around 9,400 feet.

According to the National Park Service, the body was taken to Jackson, Wyoming.

Sagiev had not been seen since Sunday afternoon when witnesses spotted him chatting on his cellphone near the Dornan's Pizza & Pasta Restaurant. Although there were already around 60 searchers looking for the student, the Teton County Sheriff's Office didn't join in until Wednesday.

The search proved difficult due to the thick clouds and heavy rains near Taggart Lake Trailhead. This was the area authorities believed to be Sagiev's hiking starting point.

Sagiev was employed at Dornan's Pizza & Pasta Restaurant on a seasonal basis.

Officials stated that when Sagiev was found, he was wearing a metallic blue "Sochi" jacket which was the one he was wearing when he was last seen.

Sagiev's friends said that he had spent a lot of time hiking and walking in the park since he arrived in June. Because of this, rangers and searchers were already familiar with him and knew where to look.

The jacket was also key in helping authorities locate him on the rocky terrain.

Authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding what was the cause of death. The case is still under investigation.
