Blackberry Passport Specs, Price, Video: List of Specs Leaked Confirm Previous Rumors

BlackBerry Ltd posted a narrower-than-expected loss as the troubled smartphone maker's turnaround efforts started to pay off, raising hopes Chen can deliver on a pledge to return the company to steady profits.

The highly anticipated Blackberry Passport that will come out in square shape has been leaked of its specifications through a list released by a tech site.

The list first shared by N4BB stated that it will arrive with a 4.5-inch LCD display, a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for extra protection. Other notables leaked specifications of the upcoming device also have the 2.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 3GB RAM, expandable storage for microSD of up to 64GB, Adreno 330GPU, 32GB inbuilt storage, 2MP for front cam and 13MP for rear cam, plus the 3450mAh battery.

It is interesting to note that majority of the details teased in the specs list coincide with the previous Blackberry Passport rumored specs and features.

It is also speculated to be first every smartphone released by Blackberry to run the Blackberry 10.3 OS along with its Siri-like virtual assistant which will be called the Blackberry Assistant.

According to GSM Arena, the upcoming Blackberry square shaped smartphone has already appeared in several occasions with the latest in a video demonstration, showing off its one of a kind keyboard.

The inspiration behind the reason for its square shape is to be of an advantage use for professionals like architects and stock brokers to view their blueprints and trading platforms respectively in the most convenient manner.

A recent BGR article also explained how it can even help doctors view detailed x-ray files through the newest Blackberry smartphone with its 4.5-inch screen. In short, it can offer the best view for documents and even medical images, giving emphasis to the importance of the size of the screen of any smartphone device.

 The Blackberry Passport release date is set to happen sometime in September and expected to compete with other leading upcoming smartphones for 2014 such as the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
