Power forward Chris Bosh is reportedly being pressured by the Miami Heat to shut down for the rest of the regular season as his health is in danger again from blood clots, which this time formed in his legs, but the 11-time NBA All-Star is said to be keen on playing through it.

The New York Post reported that "the Heat big man, who missed the last 30 games last year after a dangerous blood clot in his calf moved to his lungs, is being told to do the same thing by doctors and members of the organization".

The 31-year-old Bosh had the same problem last year after the All-Star Game as well and was immediately rested by the team last season to avoid further complications.

This year, though, the blood clots in his leg said to have "left a better picture", which means there is a possibility that he can play through it this time and potentially also in the postseason. Doctors advised that he could also use blood thinners to make it safer to play, but thinners would be too risky if he would accidentally get wounded and bleed.

Still, Bosh is "under pressure" from team officials to not force himself to play and sit out the rest of the season just like what he did last year.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports' Zach Harper noted that the league and its fans have "seen former NBA players lose their lives due to complications from blood clots", which is why the Heat's concern is understandable.

Harper also said that the condition "brings great concern and consideration about Bosh's ability and likelihood to live a long life" and so if the team does not want him to force it, then it would be a wise decision to just follow.

Bosh is currently in the second year of the five-year, $118.7 million deal he signed with Miami before the 2014-2015 season. He had been the centerpiece of the ballclub's campaign since LeBron James ditched them for Cleveland and had been effective all-around for the Heat.
