NBA Recap: Sacramento Kings Beat Dallas Mavericks, Rajon Rondo Leads Team With Double-Double

Sacramento Kings defeated the current Western Conference sixth-ranked Dallas Mavericks with a 104-101 victory at the American Airlines Center on Thursday night to end a 22-game regular-season losing streak to the Mark Cuban-owned club.

DeMarcus Cousins registered another double-double game performance of 22 points and 13 rebounds, along with 5 assists, 2 blocked shots and 1 steal in 36.15 minutes of playing time to led the Kings to their 25th win in 60 gamed played this season.

Starting guard Rajon Rondo, who heard a lot of boos from the host team's audience, finished the evening with 18 points and 12 assists for another double-double game production under his name.

"We've lost four in a row, playing against another tough team in the West," Rondo, who went 8 for 14 from the field in 37.41 minutes in the hardcourt, said."They've been playing well at home as of late so it was a good win for my team."

Rondo became a Dallas Maverick point guard after a midseason trade last season. He appeared in 46 games for the Mavericks and averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 28.7 minutes of playing time.

The four-time NBA All-Star had an ugly split with the team. He was given a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team following a heated exchange on the court he had with the team's head coach Rick Carlisle.

The Kings ended the third quarter with 73-69 lead. In the final twelve minutes of the match, Sacramento was able to control the game and established a 14-point lead 94-80 with 5:04 left to play. Dallas cut down the deficit to just five 100-95 with 1:03 minutes remaining.

Sacramento hanged on to claim the win with Darren Collison converting both free throws after Williams fouled him to make it 104-99 with 4.2 seconds left in the game clock.

Chandler Parsons led Dallas with 28 points, while Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams added 16 and 15 points, respectively.
