Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly set to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino as both clubs were said to have already agreed in principle on a deal heading into the summer transfer window.

Caught Offside indicated that the current surprise English Premier League second-placers "will finally sign" Berahino at the end of the season after the three parties have already patched up animosity in between them and became level-headed to agree on a deal that would benefit all parties.

Controversy struck Tottenham and West Brom last summer when the chairmen of both clubs, Jeremy Peace and Daniel Levy, conflicted for the services of the 22-year-old Burundi-born English striker.

Levy reportedly made four bids to acquire the Baggies' young star, but Peace was not willing to let him go even as his relationship with Berahino had gone sour last season and the England international had already expressed his desire to be transferred.

The Guardian recently reported that the "bad blood has since cooled" and that all parties are now able to establish a respectful "channel of communication" in between all of them enough to make the deal push through this summer.

Tottenham's final bid of £25 million for Berahino last summer were said to be okay with West Brom, but it just did not go out in time during deadline day of summer 2015.

Berahino had already admitted his mistake and regretted about going public with his beef against Peace.

"It is something I look back on and I really regret. I should never have said that," the still maturing striker recently said. "I am human and I make mistakes. I hold my hands up and I say it was a mistake from me."

"I just apologize to all the fans out there who have always supported me and also the club that has always believed in me," he added.

Newcastle United also made a bid for Berahino in January, but head coach Tony Pulis is said to be not keen on selling anyone in the squad during the midseason.
