"Coming off three losses in a row, this was a must-have," Lillard, who went 12 for 25 from the field and connected 6 of 13 from the three-point range, said. "We had to have this one."

The Blazers, who have lost three straight games in a row on road since March 2, were back at home after a six-game road trip. With the win over the Wizards, the Portland improved their record to 34-31 with 20-12 at home  and 14-19 on road this season.

"This was huge," Lillard, who registered his 15th straight game with 20-plus points, said."Especially with Utah losing. It was a chance to separate ourselves a little bit more. With another tough trip coming up, this was a huge opportunity to protect our home court."

CJ McCollum, who sent the game to overtime after hitting a pull-up jumper with 5.4 seconds to go to tie the score at 104, had 18 points. Gerald Henderson added with 12 points for the Blazers, who shot a better 77.4 percent from the free-throw line compared to the Wizards' 47.8 percent.

In the extra five minutes of the game, Portland was able to contain Washington to just 5 points, while they managed to produce 12 points, with 10 points coming from Lillard.

Washington was without guard Bradley Beal, who did not travel with the team to Portland because of a sprained pelvis. Beal, who has struggled with injuries this season, is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 17.8 points per game.

John Wall led the Wizards with 20 points and 11 assists.
