Last season's runners-up Shanghai SIPG FC (0-1-0, 0 points) will look to redeem themselves from their 2016 Chinese Super League opening game setback as they face neighborhood rival Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC (0-0-1, 1 point) at the Shanghai Stadium on Friday, March 11th.

After losing an AFC Champions League group stage match to the Melbourne Victory last month, the Red Eagles continued to show poor form as it dropped its first game of the new CSL season to last season's fifth placers Henan Jianye FC, 1-0, at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium last Saturday, via Sofa Score.

Swedish forward Osman Sow, one of Henan's imports, scored the lone goal of the match at the 31st minute to quickly hand head coach Sven-Göran Eriksson's team their first loss in the China domestic top flight this year.

The 68-year-old Swedish manager is confident going into the Shanghai Derby, though, telling local reporters that his team has "no injury and our preparation is good" during a pre-match press conference.

"You never know what's going to happen in a derby match, but it will be great fun. The team is in good shape and we are ready (for a victory)," Eriksson said, as per the Shanghai Daily.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Shenhua settled for a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted club Yanbian Funde FC at the Hongkou Football Stadium in Shanghai also last Saturday, as reported by Soccerway.

South Korean forward Ha Tae-goon opened the scoring for last season's China League One champions at the 54th minute as both teams went goalless in the first half of play.

However, the Blue Devils, who are playing without Tim Cahill for the first time in a long while, was able to equalize the count two minutes before the full time whistle with a goal from Senegalese striker Demba Ba to salvage the point in the overall standings.

Cahill was released by new manager Gregorio Manzano before the season began and had since moved to rival club Hangzhou Greentown.

The predicted result is a tough 2-1 victory for Shanghai SIPG. It would be a close and entertaining match but Eriksson's men will prevail.
