NBA Recap: Charlotte Hornets Rout Houston Rockets to Win 7th Consecutive Game

The Charlotte Hornet pushed with a heavy fourth quarter charge to crush the visiting Houston Rockets with a 125-109 victory at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Saturday night.

Marvin Williams scored 25 points while shooting 9 of 16 from the field and with a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Jeremy Lin had 16 points and Nicolas Batum contributed 14 points, 8 rebounds and team-high 8 assists for the Hornets.

"My teammates are doing a great job of getting me open," Williams, who had a back-to-back 20-plus points scoring game, said. "I think we're doing a good job of putting a lot of pressure on the defense. I'm definitely a beneficiary of playing with great players."

Al Jefferson had another double-double game production of 10 points and 10 boards, while Starter Courtney Lee chipped in with 12 points.

The host team opened the first quarter with a strong 34-19 start. The Rockets made a 38-28 run in the succeeding period to cut the deficit within five 62-57 closing the first half.

In the third quarter, Houston managed to control Charlotte to just 28 points, while they produced 30 - but still trailed by three 90-87 going in to the final twelve minutes of the match.

The Hornets pounded the Rockets with a 17-2 run in the early minutes of the fourth quarter and stretched the gap to 18 points 107-89 before Michael Beasley scored Houston's second basket of the quarter with 7:37 minutes remaining.

With a comfortable 20-point lead 120-100 and with just under three minutes to play, the Hornets easily claimed the victory.

Corey Brewer had 21 points and Dwight Howard added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who dropped to 33-33.
