Microsoft has cut the price of the Core i5 Surface Pro 4 by $100 just as rumors start circulating that the company is working on the Surface Pro 5. The Microsoft Store is offering a $100 discount on the Intel Core i5 Surface Pro 4 variant for a limited time. The promotion will end on Mar. 26.

The Surface Pro 4 Core i5 model, which comes with 4 GB of RAM and has 128 GB of SSD storage, currently costs $899. It used to be priced at $999. Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 4 Core i5, which comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD drive, now costs $1199. Its original price is $1299 USD.

This price cut is speculated to be the Redmond tech giant's effort to clear its stock and make way for the tablet's upcoming successor - the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. There are rumors that the Surface Pro 5 could be released in July or October this year, along with the rumored Surface Book 2. Both devices are expected to come with the Windows 10 Redstone 2 update, which will bring some new features and improvements in battery life and fan noise, among others. The Surface Pro 5 could also be lighter and possibly less expensive with a keyboard included in the package.

Those who would like to buy the Surface 3 tablet can also take advantage of great deals on Amazon. Amazon is offering a discount of up to $125 on the Surface 3 tablet. The Surface 3 with Wi-Fi 64 GB and 128 GB is now selling for $385 and $475, respectively. Notably, the 64 GB and 128 GB editions of the Surface 3 are selling on the Microsoft Store for $499 and $599. This equates to a $115 discount for the 64 GB Surface 3 and a $125 price cut for the 128 GB model.
