Croatian Church Bans 'Game of Thrones' Crew to Shoot Cersei Lannister's Nude Scene

While nudity is completely tolerable in King's Landing, a "Game of Thrones" actress has been prohibited from filming a nude scene in Croatia.

TMZ has reported that the producers of the hit TV series have been banned from filming an important scene in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The crew reportedly applied and requested for permission from the local film commission to film the scene wherein Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) undergoes a "walk of penance" in the streets of King's Landing.

However, the request had been declined due to the fact that the Dubrovnik's Church of St. Nicholas complies with a strict stance against public acts and displays of sexuality.

As such, this crucial scene taken from the fifth book "A Dance With Dragons" from George R.R. Martin's novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" will be filmed in another location due to its significance to the storyline.

Filming has been going well for "Game of Thrones" season five, which has been slotted to premiere in April next year. Numerous scenes have already been shot and completed in Northern Ireland.

The last two seasons for the fantasy drama series have not yet been given a target date for their release and will be filmed only when Martin has completed the seventh and final book, "A Dream of Spring."

HBO's drama series has snagged 19 nominations at this year's Emmys and won several awards, including Outstanding Costumers for a Series and Outstanding Visual and Special Effects.

Its bestselling author has already expressed his sentiments at how much attention he has gained ever since his novel was first adapted on the small screen in 2011.

At the Edinburgh International Book Festival this month, Martin recalled going to such city with his wife with not many people paying attention to him despite having written a number of the "ASOIAF" novels.

"In the whole week we were here, maybe three people recognised me, and I was happy to sign an autograph for them," the author said. "Now, three or four people recognise me every block. I can't go out any more, I can't walk the streets.

The 65-year-old novelist further added: "And it's great to have all these readers and fans who, for the most part, are very nice people, saying they love the books and the TV show."
