Vivo Launches Y31A Smartphone in China for US$155

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo Mobile has launched the Vivo Y31A smartphone in the Chinese market for the price of around US$155 via China Telecom. The handset is the successor to the Vivo Y31 model that was launched back in October 2015.

The Vivo Y31A comes with the same specifications as its predecessor except for the Mediatek MT6580 chipset. The new phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and unlike the previous model, it supports 4G LTE connectivity.

In terms of the dimensions, the Vivo Y31A measures 137.24 x 68.76 x 8.39mm and weighs 141 grams. It features a 4.7-inch IPS display screen with a 960 x 540 pixel resolution, and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with the Funtouch OS on top.

The processor is accompanied by 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory storage, and a 2,100 mAh battery. As for the camera, the phone comes with an 8 megapixel rear-facing unit with LED flash, HDR and Panorama capability, along with a 2 megapixel shooter on the front. Other specs include USB 2.0, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA+, FM Radio and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. As of this time, there's no word on the international availability of the Vivo Y31A.

Earlier this month, the Chinese company launched the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite device in China at US$655. The Vivo XPlay 5 Elite is the world's first smartphone to have 6GB of RAM. It is accompanied by Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset, 128GB of non-expandable internal memory storage, and a 3,600 mAh battery. Other specs include a 5.43-inch Super AMOLED display screen with a 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution (QHD), 16MP rear camera, and an 8MP front-facing snapper.
