"It's going to be hard to go four more years for me, to keep the motivation that I want, especially if I accomplish what I want to in Rio," Bolt, who set the world record in the 4x100 meters relay, said, in a report of the French news agency AFP.

Bolt, 29, previously said that he plans to participate in the 2017 world championships to be held in London and then retire afterwards. In 2015, Bolt acknowledged to The Daily Mail that his sponsorship obligations requires him to continue with his sport until next year, stating "my sponsor has asked me to go on for another year, to 2017 and London."

Bolt, a four-time world championships 200 meter king, has revealed that he intends to engrave his name in history even more by winning Olympic gold in the 100 and 200 three times in a row. He also aspires to break the 19 seconds in the 200.

"My biggest dream at the Olympics is to win three gold medals again," Bolt said Monday. "That's my focus, that's what I want, and that's what I'm aiming for because that's my goal and that's my dream."

Bolt is a recipient of prestigious awards with the likes of Laureus World Sportsman of the Year , IAAF World Athlete of the Year and Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

His main competitor in Rio this year will be the 34-year-old American Justin Gatlin, who won the 100-meter gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and has twice been banned for doping.
