Chris Soules is ABC's New 'Bachelor'

Although Chris Soules failed to win the heart of "Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman, he certainly won American over. ABC just named Soules as the "Bachelor" for season 19.

The 32-year old farmer from Iowa was clearly popular with viewers as the audience chanted his name during the live finale of the "Bachelorette". He was eliminated right before the fantasy suite night.

Dorfman explained to US Weekly why she sent Soules home. She shared, "I think it's a big deal to take someone in an overnight, whether or not you do anything. Just the act of, like, spending the night with someone should mean something, and I think you should feel like you have a future with somebody if you're willing to spend the night with them."

Dorfman ended up choosing Josh Murray.

Soules was asked earlier if he would accept an offer to be the next Bachelor. He replied, "it's an even better opportunity to be on the other side, where you have the opportunity to meet 25 incredible women. So yeah, I would definitely consider it."

Aside from Soules, Arie Luyendyk, season eight runner-up (Emily Maynard's season) was also considered for the new season.

However, it seems that Soules has the position locked, with an insider sharing "He already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off."

Luyendyk also took to Twitter to confirm ABC's choice. He tweeted for audiences to "have fun in the farm" and "Thanks for the kind words everyone. It wasn't meant to be, and I'm okay with it. Happy I can move forward."

Despite the clean-cute farm boy image Soules wanted to project in the "Bachelorette", RadarOnline reported that he isn't as wholesome as he wants to appear. Soules is said to have a hardcore partyboy reputation in his hometown.

The network will be officially announcing their pick on "Good Morning America" this Wednesday.

The new season of the "Bachelor" will premiere in 2015.
