Chinese smartphone maker OPPO claims that it sold more than 180,000 OPPO R9 and R9 Plus smartphones on the first day of their availability.

The number of units sold is a comibation of both offline and online sales of the smartphone. The success of these smartphones was highly anticipated by some tech enthusiasts, and many are waiting for the launch the R9 and R9 Plus outside of China.

The OPPO R9 and R9 Plus smartphones are quite impressive with regards to their specifications. The OPPO R9 smartphone features a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels resolution at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. The device is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6755 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a built-in 64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. In terms of the camera, the Oppo R9 is equipped with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video calling. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is fueled by a non-removable 2850mAh capacity battery.

Meanwhile, the Oppo R9 Plus smartphone comes with a 6.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 367 pixels per inch. The handset is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) processor and 4GB of RAM on board.  It comes with a built-in 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

With regards to the cameras of the phone, the Oppo R9 Plus packs with a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear panel and a 16-megapixel front shooter. The smarphone runs on Android 5.1 and is powered by a non-removable 4120mAh capacity battery.
