Dethroned English Premier League champions Chelsea FC is reportedly targeting teenage AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to replace their incumbent goal stopper Thibaut Courtois this summer.

Daily Mail Online indicated that the Blues "have identified AC Milan's 17-year-old goalkeeper" as one of the team's transfer priorities this coming offseason as the 23-year-old, 6-foot-7 Courtois "refused to commit himself" to the English club following speculations that La Liga giant Real Madrid has been luring the Belgian to the Bernabéu at the end of the season.

Los Blancos had long been in the hunt for a new no. 1 after their attempt to snag David De Gea from Manchester United failed last summer. The team currently has 29-year-old, 6-foot-1 Keylor Navas as primary goal tender and it has not brought Real the success that they wanted on the pitch.

Courtois is familiar with Spanish football as he had spent three seasons playing for Real's neighborhood rivals, Atletico Madrid, before his current stint with the Stamford Bridge residents.

The report continued that with Courtois seemingly decided on a move back to Madrid this summer, Chelsea will turn its attention to Donnarumma, who just turned 17 on Feb. 25th of this year but already has 22 Italian Serie A appearances for Milan under his belt.

Incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte is also reportedly an admirer of the Italian teenager, who had been widely regarded by fans and analysts alike as "the new Buffon", referring to his namesake Gianluigi Buffon, the 38-year-old team captain of the Italian national team and Serie A champions Juventus FC.

Caught Offside noted that Donnarumma "is one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe" and had become the "youngest goalkeeper ever to start a match in the history of Italian football, after playing all 90 minutes of a 2-1 win against Sassuolo when he was 16 years old".

Agent Mino Raiola estimated that Donnarumma could be worth £120 million to any takers, but the Blues are allegedly willing to bid £30 million only for the 6-foot-5 goalkeeper.
