Gaming peripheral manufacturer Razer has launched a new capture card called Ripsaw. The device allows users to easily stream games directly from their living room console to the Internet.

One of the major features that sets this capture card apart from others is that it can stream 1080p videos with up to 60fps refresh rate. Ripsaw is compatible with several platforms including PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Razer Forge TV and Wii U.

Setting up the capture card is relatively simple. All gamers have to do is connect the box to their console using the cable that comes with the package, to a PC via USB 3.0 and to a TV or monitor via the HDMI port.

Once the Ripsaw is connected, users can link it to their XSplit or OBS account where they can setup their broadcast gaming sessions through Twitch or other live streaming service of their choice.

While the Ripsaw offers some pretty exciting features, it does have a couple of downsides. Some tech analysts have highlighted the lack of internal storage, which makes it hard for users to save their recordings for future use. Instead, the Ripsaw needs to be connected to a PC in order to record and upload game footages.

The Ripsaw also requires a pretty high-end system in order to handle all of its recording and encoding processes. According to PC Mag, the minimum specs required by Razer includes at least an Intel Core i5-4440 3.0GHz processor, an Nvidia GTX660 video card and at least 4GB of RAM. For mobile gamers who use a laptop, the system requirements are even steeper.

To complete the setup, a webcam and a microphone are also needed. For this hardware requirements, Razer has available products such as the Stargazer web camera and the Seiren microphone system.

The Razer Ripsaw is expected to cost up to $180.
