Russia and Ukraine's meeting on Tuesday brought hope for a reconciliation between the two countries involved in a five-month-old crisis but an accusation of a new military incursion shot down that hope.

Reports suggest that Russia launched the suspected incursion on Wednesday across the eastern border. Ukrainian military spokesman Andriy Lyensko said a group of Russian soldiers in a truck were armored with infantry carriers as they crossed the border entering the town of Amvrosiyivka.

Last Monday, ten Russian soldiers were detained just miles away from Amvrosiyivka.

Ukraine also accused Russia of supporting pro-Russian separatists living in Ukraine, prompting the Western government to impose sanctions and lift security measures to the maximum level.

The Security Services of Ukraine revealed that they detained another Russian soldier who confessed that their unit indeed provided military support to the separatists. Upon questioning, the soldier revealed that they were about to bring multiple rocket launchers BM-21 Grads to the separatists.

Lyensko stated that there were almost 200 separatists killed as the fights between Horlivka and Ilovaysk progressed. Also, thirteen Ukrainian service personnel were killed due to the fights in the said towns.

The recorded casualties happened in the course of only 24 hours. Thirty-six others were wounded as tanks and missile systems were destroyed.

The Russian defense ministry did not yet release any comment about the allegations. However, they earlier denied giving aid to the pro-Russian separatists and soldiers. They explained that the ten detained Russian soldiers on Monday crossed the border by mistake.

More than 2,200 people were killed in the war between Ukraine and Russia. The United Nations (UN) has stepped into the situation and conducted talks with the leaders of both parties.

The UN earlier said there was some progress in ending the war but the new accusations made the thought impossible.

During the Tuesday talk, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said they would work on a "road map" to work out a ceasefire with the rebels. On the other hand, Russia's ruler Vladimir Putin said that ceasefires should be worked out by the Ukrainians.

Putin was said to be actively participating in the possible peace talks between the two countries.

Since watching over its own frontiers is Russia's major responsibility, they must first explain why Russian soldiers were seen crossing the border.
