If the latest NBA trade rumors are to be believed, there is a strong possibility that Kevin Love will be donning the Celtics jersey soon.

This, as the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics have reportedly held talks regarding Love's possible transfer to the Celtics, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe via the Bleacher Report.

Quoting several league sources, Lowe wrote: "Cleveland and Boston had trade talks for Love at the [February] deadline, though they died with Boston offering a low-ball package the Cavs wouldn't consider."

Lowe theorized that the NBA trade rumors between the two ball clubs may finally become a reality in the eventuality that the Cavaliers will again fail to win an NBA title this season.

Although the Cavaliers currently have the best record in the Eastern Conference, the triumvirate of Love, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving has struggled to get its act together.

First, the pick and roll offense between James and Love has failed to gain traction.

The other teams have figured out that all they have to do is to switch and put the Cavs in isolation sets to slow down the latter's offense. 

And second, Irving hasn't really done a good job in distributing the ball, as he has opted to become a "score-first, pass-later" point guard.

This situation has therefore forced Lebron to take assume the role of Cleveland's main playmaker.

Despite the NBA trade rumors surrounding Love, he continues to put in impressive numbers.

The 27-year-old power forward is currently averaging 15.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season.

In his last two seasons with Cleveland, he has averaged 16.1 points and 9.8 rebounds.

If Cleveland decides to let go of Love, a lot of NBA teams will surely be lining up to avail of his services.

However, current NBA trade rumors suggest that the Celtics have the best chance of acquiring Love, as the team has a line-up of solid players and draft picks it could offer to secure the deal with the Cavaliers.
