La Liga giants Real Madrid is reportedly planning a summer swoop for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, crushing the hopes of English clubs Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United who are all allegedly interested in snagging the Bundesliga superstar.

The Sun reported that Los Blancos is set to buy back 23-year-old Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Juventus for £23.5 million after selling him to the Italian Serie A champions for £15.8 million in the summer of 2014.

The report continued, citing accounts from German newspaper Bild, that "Real will activate the clause before launching a monster bid" to Dortmund that amounts to £54.9 million along with Morata for the services of the 26-year-old Gabon international.

Aubameyang said to have admitted in February that he is intending to join the Bernabéu residents before his career ends as it was a promise to his late grandfather.

"In 2014, just before the death of my grandfather, who was born in Avila 100 kilometres from Madrid, I gave him the promise to play one day for Real," said the France-born Gabonese scorer. "It'll be complicated, but this (promise) is anchored to a corner of my heart."

With the recent rumored developments, he may get the chance to fulfill that promise as early as this summer if all things work out well.

Bleacher Report noted that Aubameyang with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale would be a more potent front three combination as the Gabonese is a "more dynamic centre-forward than Karim Benzema".

Meanwhile, head coach Thomas Tuchel and the Borussians will have to change their already successfully offensive style if they swap Aubameyang for Morata as the Spaniard is "a striker teams should play off and around".

However, getting a young striker with unlimited upside and earning a staggering amount of money at the same time may force Dortmund to accept the deal.

The report said that both teams are set to benefit from the swap if ever it pushes through as Real "would get a legitimate match-winning striker" that will help them contend against the MSN trio of Barcelona while Dortmund will have the "chance to refresh their brand of attacking and give Bundesliga opponents a new set of problems" with Morata joining forces with Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
