Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan has been rushed to the hospital due to muscle breakdown last August 26, according to Taiwanese media reports.

The 'Fated to the Love You' star was said to have been suddenly rushed to the hospital after suffering from muscle pain, brought about by a damage on his skeletal muscle tissue.

It has been reported that the 31-year old actor suffered from a condition called Rhabdomyolisis which is said to be the rapid degradation of muscle tissues attached to the bones.

Ethan Ruan was said to have broken down into tears due to the excessive pain he had suffered from before he was brought to the hospital for medical attention.

Taiwanese news reports say that the actor had been burning the midnight oil for several promotional activities. Ethan Ruan, who starred in many idol dramas in the past, is currently on the road, promoting his upcoming movie entitled 'Paradise in Service'.

Additionally, Ethan Ruan is also spending time training for the impending Taiwan Speed Festival or TSF which is a festival that involves a series of go kart races. The event is supposed to be held this coming weekend, at the Pen Bay International Circuit in Taiwan.

Last August 26, a good friend of Ethan Ruan has taken to a social networking site to post about the actor's hard work. According to the Facebook post, Ethan Ruan has been subjecting himself to intense workouts and training for the upcoming go kart race.

In the post, Ethan Ruan was said to have been doing his routine under the scorching sun.

However, the actor, who is also an avid racer, suddenly started manifesting symptoms of Rhabdomyolisis due to lack of rest. It has been reported that it was a fortunate matter that the actor's condition was diagnosed on its early stages.

Ethan Ruan is currently taking a home rest and in order to assure his supporters that he is in a better condition, he posted a photo of himself smiling for the camera on his Weibo account.
