On April Fool's Day, somebody took to the interweb to play a very mean prank, which the beautiful Chrissy Teigen fell for.

The fake article announced on Yahoo  that the specialty grocery store Trader Joe's would be shutting down all of its stores and is going to discontinue all of their products including the well-loved cookie butter.

Many Twitter users and readers fell for the prank. However, it was Teigen who stood out among them all, as her reaction to the news revealed how she felt about the store.

She tweeted, "I want to be sad about Trader Joe's but that place was always weird and creepy to me. Except their cookie butter."

After a while, the "Lip Sync Battle" co-host found out that the story was simply an April Fool's joke and continued to write, "Now I hate Trader Joe's even more."

"I always feel like they sense my uncomfortableness [sic] there," Teigen added.

Many Internet users were panicking once the news hit the web. Though Trader Joe's may not be for Teigen, it is for a lot of its most loyal customers. Not only do they sell unique treats and snacks, but a lot of people find comfort in their happy and accommodating employees.

For those who have seen the news that Trader Joe's will be closing all of its stores on January 2017, you can breath a sigh of relief as the grocery chain's public relations director, Alison Mochizuki, clarified the news by giving out a statement.

"Although we don't take ourselves too seriously, we don't want anyone to mislead our customers. Trader Joe's is open for business and has no plans to close," she explained. Finally, she said, "We had no involvement whatsoever in the April Fool's hoax article."
