Electric cars have always been highly regarded for their affordability and environmental benefits. While not all electric cars are lauded for their driving perks, the 2017 Chevy Bolt is meant to break that notion.

Experts and car enthusiasts have all praised the near-silent operation of the electric car, as well as its impressive torque delivery. While low gas prices impeded the overall sales of electric cars in 2015, electric car makers are slowly making upgrades on their products to compete with gas-powered rivals.

Before the release, the team of engineers working on the 2017 Chevy Bolt will have ample time to finalize all tests of the plant tools and processes. Chevy also released a handful of photos showing the Bolt being manufactured on the assembly line.

In a statement, Chevy Bolt chief car engineer Josh Tavel said, "We're at another critical and important point in the development of the Bolt EV. We've moved from working in math, and building cars by hand, to building Bolt EVs on the [assembly] line."

The 2017 Chevy Bolt was unveiled as a concept car at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. A year later, the car was reintroduced as a production vehicle.
