The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, will make an appearance on an upcoming episode of NCIS, CBS announced on Thursday.

Mrs. Obama will play herself in the May 3 episode of the procedural television drama titled Homefront, as she welcomes Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the wife of a Marine (Reiko Aylesworth) to the White House for a "Joining Forces" discussion with spouses of military members.

"Joining Forces" is an initiative co-founded by FLOTUS in conjunction with Joe Biden's wife, Jill Biden, in 2011 and provides support to service members, veterans, and their family members through wellness, education and employment programs.

The filming of the scene was initially supposed to take place on the set of the show in California, but following a change in schedules, Mrs. Obama invited the cast and crew to the White House.

"Filming inside the White House was a dream come true for the NCIS cast and crew," said showrunner Gary Glasberg. "It was such a pleasure working with First Lady Michelle Obama and it's our honor to support the 'Joining Forces' initiative and the military families that benefit from it."

"It's something that we've been aware of and conscious of in our research and storytelling, and this was an opportunity to really focus on it, so that people can be aware of everything it's done," he added.

This isn't Mrs. Obama's first television gig. The First Lady has made appearances on several shows such as Parks and Recreation, Jessie, Project Runway: Junior and Nashville.
